 Rise In Young Men Using Viagra
The presumption that only aging men affected by a malady called erectile dysfunction are the only ones using Viagra is just that, a presumption. The reality is that even men who are young and who do not suffer from the symptoms of erectile dysfunction are buying Viagra. The increasing use of Viagra among young men suffering from the symptoms of erectile dysfunction is proof of the growing popularity of the drug as an effective medication for erectile dysfunction. The approval of Viagra by the United States Food and Drug Administration is considered by many as a safety mark and has contributed to the popularity of the drug. This has proven beneficial to those who did not have any means of treating their conditions before Viagra came into the market.

However, the popularity of Viagra has also led to the unscrupulous use of the drug even by young men who are not suffering from erectile dysfunction. Studies show that there is a growing incident of Viagra use among men who are between the ages of 18 to 45 years old. There is a 312% increase in the use of Viagra among this age segment alone.
While there is an increase in the use of Viagra as a recreational drug, there are reports that the use of Viagra among patients who need it most is on the decline. This was attributed to the scarcity of health resources in some countries as well as monetary reasons for specific society segments.
VIAGRA AS A RECREATINAL DRUG?
The use of Viagra as a recreational drug should be discouraged because of the risks involved in taking in erectile dysfunction drugs. Viagra has minor side effects but there are also reports of vision loss and hearing loss among those who have used Viagra. While these risks are acceptable among those who are suffering from erectile dysfunction considering the benefits they can get from the drug, the risks are so far greater to those who are just using Viagra as a recreational drug.
Healthy, young men are discouraged from taking in Viagra for fun because they might regret the effects of the drugs on their health later on. Viagra is a prescription drug and should be taken in only after proper diagnosis by a doctor. The improper use of Viagra can lead to adverse reactions especially when taken with other drugs like nitrates. |
