Viagra For Female Dysfunction?

Viagra has been proven to be an effective medication for male patients who are suffering from the symptoms of erectile dysfunction.  But Viagra for female sexual dysfunction?

This may seem far out but possible.  However, the makers of Viagra will soon make this a possibility as they seek a new drug that will focus on female sexual dysfunction much like Viagra.

Viagra for male sexual dysfunction became one of the best-selling drugs of Pfizer from the time of its approval by the United States Food and Drug Administration in the late 90s.  And despite the approval of two other erectile dysfunction drugs which are now also doing well in the market, Viagra remains to be the top erectile dysfunction drug in the world today. Scientists are already at work in their laboratories and have found out that a new drug type which seeks to increase and improve blood flow to the vagina is safe for rats.  The new compound, which is being eyed as the new Viagra for women, has reportedly been sourced from a drug that can treat chronic heart failure known as Candoxatrilat.  This new compound may just one day help women with sexual dysfunctions become sexually aroused.

It is however too early to become excited about a possible Viagra that is specifically geared for women and even Pfizer accept this fact.  They admit that there is as yet a limited testing of the compound among animals and a lesser testing rate among humans so it is really too early to jump to conclusions.

The demand for a pink Viagra or female Viagra has been on the rise ever since the FDA has approved Viagra in 1998.  And while a lot of companies have had their own share of laboratory tests to come up with a pink Viagra, no one has so far succeeded in coming up with a treatment for female sexual dysfunction.

Critics, most of them women, are however skeptical and are protesting even just the possibility of a treatment for female sexual dysfunction saying this will make prevalent the idea that women who experience a lack of libido have some sort of medical illness.  They contend that instead of coming up with a pink Viagra , financial support should be invested in more daycares to help women ease their child rearing load and even help for their mates who might be ignorant about some sexual techniques to stimulate the women.

One thing is sure though.  The company that makes it to the finish line and come up with a Viagra for women will definitely rake in millions of dollars.
