Milwaukee School Teachers Sue for Viagra Coverage
A public school in Milwaukee has caught media attention due to a strange demand by its teachers. The school is currently going through budget cuts and they are lying off several teachers. The teachers who will remain working have filed a complaint with their union, demanding the school to keep their Viagra in the medical benefits package.
The teachers union has filled a lawsuit against the public school demanding Viagra be re instated in their medical benefits. If the court in Milwaukee decides the teachers should be able to get this coverage, over 800,000 dollars will be at stake, the amount that it will take in order to provide the teachers with the popular erectile dysfunction medication. This money can cover the salaries of the teachers for a whole year.
Doctors say Viagra is not a necessity Doctor Jon Pryor is an Urologist in the Milwaukee area and says that Viagra is not a necessity for health, it improves the quality of life but does not improve a mans health. "It definitely improves the quality of life for the majority of these people," Pryor said. "But it's not medically necessary." The cost of Genuine Viagra can be as much as $99 dollars for 3 pills. This is considered extremely expensive by insurance companies and most insurers do not even offer Viagra in their plans. The parents of school students are furious and say this lawsuit is selfish and irresponsible. The parents claim that teachers are not focusing on the students and that’s the whole reason they are there, for the students, not Viagra in their medical benefits. This ruling can take months to sort out, the school board says they want to provide excellent medical coverage, but do not want to deal with this situation in court. Strange Viagra in the news: Viagra has been in several strange lawsuits, including a furniture company who has to pays a man’s Viagra bill for life after one of their employees had a truck accident with a pedestrian.
