Womens Sexual Aid Zestra Having Hard Time Advertising
A sexual dysfunction product called Zestra that is meant only for women; has been finding it very hard to run in the same space and time other products are advertised in. Commercials for erectile dysfunction medications Cialis, Viagra or Levitra are aired during "family hours" and have caused debate on whether they should be scheduled at a later time. Last year Republican Jim Moran requested impotence commercials to be aired after hours and not during prime time TV.
Although Zestra does not fall into the category of erectile dysfunction, it does help women increase sexual arousal, therefore should be considered on being able to advertise side by side with related products. However, Zestra has been seeing double standards when it comes to advertising products related to sex.
Learn more about what Zestra is here The makers of Zestra attempted to run radio commercials for their product, but where only given authorization to air them between 11 pm to 4am and 8am to 9am. They were also not allowed to use words such as sex or arousal, which complicates the creation of a targeted advertising campaign. The women's sexual aid also attempted to advertise with the popular online health portal WebMD. They run ads for Viagra in their health and relationship sections, which is the same spot Zestra was looking for. The company that markets Zestra got a response to their advertising request by WebMd saying:

Response from WebMd "This product does not fall in line with WebMD's Best Practice Guidelines" WebMd is not the only company that turned down Zestra. The biggest social networking site in the world, FaceBook, also denied Zestra's request for advertising, claiming it does not allow adult content to be promoted. The group that manufactures Zestra is called Semprae Laboratories. The companies president Rachel Braun, says that television networks, radio stations and even websites are declining their advertising campaigns due to societies discomfort with women's sexuality Nytimes: Read more about why Zestra is find it hard to advertise here
