Default Viagra might decrease sense of smell?

Has anyone heard of this? I read an article not to long ago about Viagra decreasing sense of smell in men? I mean I have heard that Viagra might cause blindness but I have never seen anything about ones sense of smell? German researchers claim that it is due to the amount of nasal congestion obtained as a side effect wile on Viagra, here is a small snippet:

"The researchers tested the subjects' odor detection threshold, odor discrimination and odor identification ability.

They found that the 100-mg dose caused a drop in smelling or "olfactory" ability, specifically odor discrimination and odor threshold, compared with placebo. The 50-mg dose, by contrast, had no effect on olfactory function
    ."

I read about that a while ago. Seems that you can now go blind and deaf with Viagra. That cannot be good. But I think these are very rare cases and does not affect most me. I would say 1 in 100000.

All medications have side effects and I agree it must just be a small number of men who are at risk. It most likely has to do with other medications one is taking and your general health condition. I take Viagra whenever I really need it but the only side effects I get is a minor headache...

    Default Depends

Probably also applies to how much and how often you take it? I am sure that if you are healthy and are not known to have nose conditions Viagra will not affect your sense of smell, but yet again your doctor should be able to warn you..
