Isn't it illegal to get prescription medicines from overseas?

There is a lot of discussion on here about ordering ED drugs from online pharmacies.

In the USA, isn't it illegal to get these pills mailed to you without a prescription from anywhere (within the USA or from another country)?

This is the exact reason Edguider only has a few pharmacies listed. There are thousands of online pharmacies but most are overseas and can be dangerous. We have two sections, one for the EU and one for the US. The US pharmacy list only has credible pharmacies that are pharmacychecker.com or VIPPS approved, such as Drugstore.com and SelfServerx. Before we diced to list any pharmacy we make sure they are safe and legit to order from.

I believe most online pharmacies will require you to fill in a form with all the necessary information (online consultation) before they send anything. There are many illegitimate websites, though.

I live in Portugal and I often order drugs from overseas. I've never had any problems. Sometimes I am required to present a prescription at customs but that's no big deal.
