    Default Timeline for gene therapy?

Does anyone have an idea of how long it would take for gene therapy to become available? I know tests are still in the comparatively early stages and that funding has become an issue for Dr Melman's research.

I just hope the FDA or big pharma won't ry and obstruct the process as it might hit profits of other ED drugs...

It's hard to say. I contacted Doctor Melman's company recently and they said that everything was on hold.

Check out their website for more on this:

I saw a urologist and I asked him about gene therapy and stem cells. He said 10-20 years.

I asked another urologist. He said the same thing: 10-20 years.

NOOOOOOO!!! I was hoping maybe 5-7 years. I also spoke to a sexual advice line and they said 10-15 years, however the fact that phase 1 trials are completed and they carried out a urvey of urologists regarding the treatment's effects might suggest it could be quicker.

The man behind the maxi-K gene therapy is the best urologist in the world (Doctor Arnold Melman) and, like you said, phase 1 trials were completed successfully.

All the doctors I talked to were excited about this new treatment.

Moreover, the ED market is immense and constantly growing - even in these times of economic recession.

So yes, I believe we have reasons to be optimistic.

(Anyway, ZORAXEL will be available much sooner, you might want to look into that, as well).

I had a uro appointment today to discuss my post-finasteride sexual decimation.

My uro, who at least believes me but doesn't know what is going on, offered me an implant in a couple of years should I wish.

Intriguingly he also said gene therapy would take 15-20 years in his opinion and more interestingly still that it wasn't a miracle cure, that it was improving guys but seemingly not those with very bad ed.

Looks like I might be a robocock within a few years...

I was also a finasteride user for many years and I believe you. I have no doubt that finasteride is a dangerous drug and could mess up your whole sex life.

You mentioned an implant but isn't that a bit too drastic? Shouldn't you try some sort of hormonal therapy first?
