United Arab Emirates upset about commercial promoting Snafi

Television commercials for erectile dysfunction medications are very normal in countries such as Canada, USA, Mexico and Europe. Most users are already familiar with seeing ads for Cialis, Levitra and Viagra, but not in Saudi Arabia.  A state owned television network named “Channel One” aired a commercial that it is now receiving several complaints on.

Channel One decided to accept advertising for a product named Snafi, which promised to give men up to 36 hours of go time. Snafi is one of the few erectile dysfunction medications approved in the UAE and is the first Arab drug against impotence. It is made by a company named Spimaco and up until now, their advertising has been conservative.

In the commercial a man comes home from work greeting his wife who is attending to their children. The wife hints to her husband that he has not done “his chore”, they then slip away from the living room, on their way to the bedroom.

The network Channel One is known for their conservative family programs and some people are very upset that a commercial involving ED was shown to them, especially with children in the ad. Other countries do not have harsh rules against these types of commercials. Although it only last 20 seconds, ED is still considered a taboo in the UAE and commercials such as the Snafi one, is still a very sensitive subject, especially on the network it aired on.

Is Snafi like Cialis?

Based on some research we did on Snafi, it contains the same active ingredient Cialis has, Tadalafil. Cialis is know for it’s 36 hours lasting effects and Snafil promotes the same success, so Snafi can be considered the United Arab Emirates version of Cialis .
