Potential New ED treatment Udenafil is currently in US trails
There has been allot of talk in the erectile dysfunction world about a newly anticipated medication coming out that might directly compete with current ED medications on the market. It is called Udenafil, which is expected to be added to the list of effective erectile dysfunction drugs competing to offer a safe and long lasting alternative to the likes of Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra.
Warner Chilcott plc, the US partner to Dong-A PharmTech Co. Ltd., announced it has initiated phase III trails for it new long acting drug udenafil which is currently being developed. It has initiated two of these phases. These trials will be conducted in 80 separate sites in the US which will encompass about 1,120 subjects. This double-blind placebo-controlled trial is intended to evaluate the safety and efficiency of the drug according to the company. This is an orally administered selective inhibitor of phosphodiesterase versus a placebo trail. Udenafil has already been approved in a few other countries such as Russia and it is marketed under the name Zydena. Could having another alternative out there be a benefit to men suffering from erectile dysfunction? Could it have an impact on lowering the price of these medicines? We will have to wait and see if it gets approved. |
