The number of Younger men using Viagra for ED is on the rise.

Why are more and more young men turning to medications such as Viagra? How can a man under the age of 30 be suffering from Erectile Dysfunction? These questions are turning up more and more, but why? Experts say that men are starting to feel more intimidated by powerful younger women with high expectations, sexually.

Romance and dating has changed over the past 20 years and it’s not just dinner and a movie that might get you lucky. Women are much more demanding these days, which can cause men to face more pressure, creating a sense of anxiety and problems in the bedroom. This pressure is diverting many men to buy Viagra and similar ED medications.

But why are women’s sexual expectations so much higher than they were 20 years ago? Experts claim that there are many reasons, here are the most talked about:

1) New TV Shows, movies or even reality TV are giving women more and more reasons to demand better performance in the bedroom, various examples have pointed to the TV show “Sex in the City”

2) They are more confident, have better financial stability and are sexually more secure.

Younger men who visit Sex Therapists is Increasing.

Sex therapists have been reporting a huge increase in younger men visiting their offices requesting advice and help, claiming that powerful women are too much for them to handle. However, sexual therapists believe the number of men who visit them is just a fraction compared to men who do not want to discuss this embarrassing problem and result to researching more on erectile dysfunction and Viagra online. In many cases men result to buying medications like Cialis, Viagra and Levitra on the internet.

CBS report on Young men Taking Viagra:

Treating men under 30 with Viagra is becoming very common

In past news articles and studies, doctors have been interviewed and questioned about how many men get prescriptions for Viagra. They claim that back in 1998 when Viagra was first introduced, most men over 60 or diabetes sufferers where common subjects for Viagra. Now it is not uncommon treating men under the age of 30, who suffer from perfromance anxiety.

FORUM TOPIC: How to overcome sexual performance anxiety

The root of the problem is Performance anxiety

The problem is categorized by psychiatrists as “Performance Anxiety”. In most cases it can cause a man to loose his erections or not even be able to achieve one in the first place. The elevated pressure of what women expect in the bedroom can be too much for some men, causing a tremendous amount of anxiety and worrying.

FOXNEWS: Psychological Problems Cause Erectile Dysfunction in Younger Men

What men with performance anxiety think about before sex?

What if I ejaculate too quickly?

Will she tell her friends?

Does she think my penis is too small?

I hope I can get it up.

These are all questions that can race through a mans head before he has sex, especially if it is with a woman he really desires and expects to give her the best sexual experience ever. This is how performance anxiety develops and results in a type of psychological erectile dysfunction.

Click here to find a performance anxiety therapist in the UK

Pornography also fueling this problem:

This has been a major development over the past 5 years. The internet has gotten faster and so have porn videos and images. You can literally finds thousands of free online porn sites that show everything from soft-core to hardcore porn. The main dilemma with men watching hardcore pornography is expectations and how they see women.

Porn is giving men unrealistic expectations and when it is time to have real sex, they are not able to perform because they are so use to porn and expect their women to mimic the same positions and fantasies as their porn videos.

Can Viagra be a Cause of Divorce?

According to Pfizer pharmaceutical’s website, Viagra has now been on the market for 10 years and is one of the best selling drugs in history. They claim 25 million men have taken Viagra since its introduction. Viagra has literally put tens of thousands of men back in the bedroom.

But some marriage counselors are saying that Viagra is certainly helping marriages, but at the same time it can be destroying others. Experts are now saying that men are taking this ED medicine and not telling their partners. Once the little blue pill is ingested, it turns these men into machines ready for sex, and sometimes the partner is just not ready for such action. And as a result of these men’s improved libido and self esteem, they can go looking elsewhere outside the relationship to satisfy these needs.

ARTICLE: Wife Throws Out Husbands Viagra Pills

Sexuality in Midlife and Beyond

Harvard School of Medicine published a report saying just that. The report, “Sexuality in Midlife and Beyond,” now confirms what these marriage counselors have also been reporting, that although the ED medicines have improved relationships, others are suffering.

The reports reads, "When intercourse is suddenly a possibility again, relationship issues can emerge or resurface, as can dramatic differences in libido. The bottom line is that couples should try to regard these drugs as an opportunity to renew their sexual relationship, while realizing that ED drugs are neither a mandate to have intercourse nor a panacea for every problem in the bedroom."

Assistant professor at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Altman, and licensed clinical social worker and certified sex therapist Suki Hanfling both edited the 48 page report. There are millions of success stories regarding Viagra, but couples need to know how to use it. The report outlines this and other issues including how to deal with emotional issues about sex and taking Viagra.

Couples need to work together to resolve sex issues including ED. Viagra is a tool for couples, and these couples need to understand this. In reality, it is not just for the man. This is Hanflings biggest concern with Viagra. She is the founder and director of The Institute for Sexuality and Intimacy which is located in Belmont, Massachusetts, and see’s these issues all the time.

The man needs to tell his wife.

If a man tells his wife before hand and works into the new sexual relationship, Viagra can help this new relationship mature and enhance a relationship. But is a man jumps into it with both feet, and is all of a sudden in the mood all the time, this can be overwhelming for the wife.

Hanflings always advises that couples need to make the decision together before actually buying the ED drug. They could even go to their physicians and learn how to use it. Like anything out there, there is instructions for proper use.

If this increase libido does make a man go looking for another partner that leads to divorce, chances are there were other underlying issues in the relationship, which makes the drug unlikely to be the culprit.

Spokeswoman for Viagra Jenifer Jacobs says oversexed men with wives having trouble coping is a very rare circumstance.

Is Viagra for woman really on the way?

A British study on the subject of a women’s Viagra type seems to think so. The British researchers studied the affect of the experimental drug (also by Pfizer) on rabbits. For years researchers have studied the affects of drugs and treatments for women on rabbits. Researchers tested the rabbits by sexually arousing the rabbit then gave it the drug. The prototype actually bolstered the arousal by simulating the human body’s natural process.

As we all know however, the human brain is hugely more complex than a rabbits. The neuro pathways maybe similar, but it ends there. They are aiming at getting more blood flow to the genitalia to enhance and extend the duration of arousal, but the physiological problem of getting the blood flowing is only a portion of the entire equation for women with sexual dysfunction.

FSAD (female sexual arousal disorder) can be caused by several factors, and blood flow is only a small percentage of the big picture. Sheryl Kingsburg, chief of the division of behavioral medicine at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, says that “This is the closest thing out there to Viagra for women, but the problem is that a Viagra-like effect will not solve the majority of sexual dysfunction cases in women.”

Kingsburg went on to say that in contrast to men, erections were the key, men wanted it, but physically they couldn’t get one. In women, only five percent who have a sexual disorder are related to blood flow. So possibly for those 5% this could be the right option and even a safe one.

The drug they are testing is one that blocks the enzyme which controls the blood flow to this region of the body. The drug seems to allow greater blood flow thus a greater physiological arousal. The lead researcher on the project, Chris Wayman adds however that the drug does not create the arousal, only helps keep it once it’s there.

Physical and emotional cues trigger the brain into telling the body to increase blood flow to the genitals when a woman gets sexually aroused. This lubricates the vagina and increases the sensation as well as relaxing the muscles in the vagina making it easier to penetrate. If this blood flow doesn’t happen, then sex can be painful and not very pleasant for the woman. This then can trigger a low libido if past sexual experiences are unpleasant. But an increase in blood flow can be like a shot of adrenalin to the body.

That takes care of the 5%, what about the rest?
The majority of the women have a different issue; arousal is not the problem but desire. For men, Viagra boosts the arousal, which increases the blood flow to the penis, which has been very successful. Unfortunately it’s not the same for women. Desire has many factors, physiological, psychological and biological. Before women can pop a pill to address all those factors like a man is quite possibly a long way off.

But in the meantime, if a company like Pfizer can help women, if even it’s only the five percent, why not?

Fake Viagra that Contained Guano in New Zealand?

Medsafe intercepted at New Zealand’s border fake medicines claiming to be Viagra and other medicines claiming to help with erectile dysfunction. These medicines actually included as a major ingredient a substance called guano! Guano is actually bat and bird feces. Other ingredients included whole insects, hair, charcoal, and dust mites. Dallas Mildenhall, GNS Science principal scientist reported the findings.

After further screening by Environmental Science and Research (ESR), they reported to www.Stuff.co.nz that further items such as heavy metals like arsenic and mercury where also discovered.

Dr. Clare Strachan, Otago University Researcher and other health experts are warning online shoppers to please beware of purchasing medicines online. Counterfeit medicines which are cheap can cause serious side affects including death. You never know what you are going to get when a deal seems too good to be true.

Dr. Strachan reported in a recent study some medicines actually contained completely different medicines than what was advertised. She even cited a case in Singapore of a man who had taken an online medicine reported to be an ED drug which actually contained a diabetes drug. The man died.

Medsafe has warned that an alarming amount of people are choosing sources in other countries for medicines without first consulting a doctor, or buying from a online marketer which does not guarantee as to the quality, efficiency, and safety of the medicines they are selling.

Almost all countries have safety standards in place for medications legally sold in their prospective countries that ensures the safety of medicines legally available to its citizens.

State Funded Viagra?

Do you think Medicare should pay for Viagra? For some, Medicare is the only coverage they have. It does the job for most, but does it go too far? Some States in the US certainly think so.

Before the “why” she thinks so, let go to some other issues in the East Cost. The State of Virginia does not fund or support abortion. In fact, some Delegates actually went as far as to say this: "The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion with handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the first born of any, nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children." The absurdity of this comment does not deserve comment.

Okay, so if Virginia does not support abortion, and even argues their point with comments like the one above, then why does the state cover Viagra? It will help men get erections to get women pregnant, but will not support women with services needed to protect them. Again, we can give men erections, but we cannot give women birth control?

Even though this has all created an uproar in Virginia, three other “male” public officials released statements agreeing to strip funding for Planned Parenthood. Three are Attorney Generals in fact..

For now, the State of Virginia will continue to provide Viagra to men with ED, to possibly create more unwanted and aborted children in which the State will not support. Go figure.

The battle will continue to be waged in all the States for years to come on whether or not public funding will be used to pay for abortions. And with backwards thinking arch-conservative Christian groups launching campaigns to strip funding from Planned Parenthood, maybe it’s time to start new campaigns to help keep those erections of men in their pants, not fund them.

Taxpayers Footing Prisoners Viagra Bill?

This prison system in Great Britain has some big perks. The release of a convicted terrorist last year for the bombing of a Pan Am flight raised some eyebrows because he was on his death bed. The Scottish system allows for these convicts to die at home with family.

For his part in an attack that killed another man, Ryan Scott was given a plush air mattress in his “joint” because he was complaining of a sore back.

The West Lothian Penitentiary called “The Addison” by its inmates have flat screen TV’s and Freeview for their entertainment, and some cells were reported to be private with en-suite showers and air-conditioning.

Now it has been reported that inmates whom have weekend leave are being handed Viagra for their conjugal visits. Just last week a spokesperson for the Scottish Prison Service confirmed that this £5 ($7.98 USD) was being handed out.

Doctors at the prison are prescribing them for hardened guys out for the weekend. A jail source reported that the convicts are obviously happy they are getting “something for the weekend”.

Tory justice spokesman blasted the scheme saying “How on earth can this be justified? There is no reason the taxpayer should be paying for this.”

The same source said that only prisoners that meet NHS guidelines for erectile dysfunction are being supplied the Viagra. This is the same criteria that men in the community are faced with.

But does this simple fact make it okay for the taxpayers to be footing the bills for flat screens, air conditioning, special air mattresses, and ED drugs?

What is the point of prison with all these perks? Maybe keeping the prison populations moral high to make life in general more tolerable?

Everybody has an argument for and against these perks for prison inmates, but the final judgments are all on the wardens of these jails, what they do with their budgets to make the jails run smoothly are their decisions.

And as far as this spokesperson is concerned, “What prisoners do on home release is a matter for them, and long as it is within the law.”

Could an anti-impotence drug help lung capacity at higher elevations? A tabloid in England recently published an article that The FA’s football squad would be taking Viagra with them to help cope with the higher elevations they will encounter in South Africa during the World Cup. England will be based at Rustenburg next summer for the World Cup, which is at an altitude of 5000 feet above sea level. The England medical staff is conducting research with different experts on how to deal with this a head of next year’s tournament said an FA spokesman, according to The Sporting Life.

Although this medical research is in fact happening, The FA have refuted the tabloid reports about the use of Viagra, in fact there has not even been discussions into this area. In fact athletes at this level would adjust fairly easily to the altitude. But teams need every advantage they can get to deal with all sorts of different variables in the game. Not only is the altitude a factor, but so could the heat and the differences in humidity from England.

And how would they deal with an erection that lasted more then four hours at that point and time? I guess they would need to call a referee, I mean a doctor immediately.

Maybe some of you have read the book by Jamie Reidy about a top sales representative for Viagra in the late 1990′s. Well the book is available at Amazon.com and it is called “Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman“. Based on several news sources on the web such as Reuters, a movie will be released next year based on this book and it will feature 2 well known actors Jake Gyllenhaal from Brokeback mountain and Anne Hathaway who stared in “The Devil Wears Prada”. Hathaway plays a woman who is suffering from Parkinson’s disease and Gyllenhaal who plays the Viagra salesman enters a relationship with here. The relationship starts by Gyllenhaal visiting Hathaway on a sales call.

There is not much more detail about the movie and it starts filming late in 2009. If you cannot wait to find out what the movie will be about the best place to start would be getting the book. The movie is based on it and is what looks to be a very good read. By reading the first few pages on Amazon it talks about a boy who did not want to be in the military and looks for a job elsewhere, his father did not approve because he was in the military himself and wanted his son to follow his footsteps. This is the part in the book where Jaime looks into the pharmaceutical sales business and lands a job for Pfizer the makers of Viagra. You can preview the first pages by clicking on “search inside this book” underneath the cover. It costs just a little over 13 dollars and has a few used books for sale as well for about 5 bucks.

According to a report done by the University of British Columbia, men in B.C. Canada spend more money on prescription medications for Erectile Dysfunction such as Viagra, Levitra or Cialis than other Canadians. The report does not indicate whether the increased spending on meds like Viagra is due to there being more men in the British Columbia area or not. Researches say it could be due to cultural reasons as the ED med Viagra is used widely by the homosexual community.

IMS health Canada is an organization that tracks prescription drugs use and says that more than 242,800 prescriptions for medications such as Viagra, Levitra and Cialis were issued in British Columbia during 2008. This turns out to be a little over 24 million dollars worth of Erectile Dysfunction medications. So the per captia spending on Impotence meds in British Columbia is 13 percent higher than any other province in Canada and coming in second would be Ontario Canada.

So which provinces in Canada have the highest spending on prescription drugs?

According to the study in Canada the per capita spending on all prescription medications was for $578. So in British Columbia the spending was at an all time low of $432. But which province had the highest spending? To be precise Quebec had the highest $680 of spending on prescription medications.

Pfizer has announced that it will give up to a years supply of medication including Viagra to employees they have laid off. They have laid off thousands of employees in the past months and all of the people laid off lose their health insurance. Very disturbing to most guys who have been getting Viagra covered by their health insurance, now they will have a year of free Viagra from Pfizer.

So what is the catch?
This giveaway program from Pfizer does have a few terms, for example, you have to have been on the medication requested for at least 3 months and have been laid of since January 1st. The company has been criticized over the years of very high prices and the economic crisis is not helping, this might help give the company some better recognition by former employees and help them stay by their brand.
