Fake Viagra that Contained Guano in New Zealand?
Medsafe intercepted at New Zealand’s border fake medicines claiming to be Viagra and other medicines claiming to help with erectile dysfunction. These medicines actually included as a major ingredient a substance called guano! Guano is actually bat and bird feces. Other ingredients included whole insects, hair, charcoal, and dust mites. Dallas Mildenhall, GNS Science principal scientist reported the findings.

After further screening by Environmental Science and Research (ESR), they reported to www.Stuff.co.nz that further items such as heavy metals like arsenic and mercury where also discovered.
Dr. Clare Strachan, Otago University Researcher and other health experts are warning online shoppers to please beware of purchasing medicines online. Counterfeit medicines which are cheap can cause serious side affects including death. You never know what you are going to get when a deal seems too good to be true.
Dr. Strachan reported in a recent study some medicines actually contained completely different medicines than what was advertised. She even cited a case in Singapore of a man who had taken an online medicine reported to be an ED drug which actually contained a diabetes drug. The man died.
Medsafe has warned that an alarming amount of people are choosing sources in other countries for medicines without first consulting a doctor, or buying from a online marketer which does not guarantee as to the quality, efficiency, and safety of the medicines they are selling.
Almost all countries have safety standards in place for medications legally sold in their prospective countries that ensures the safety of medicines legally available to its citizens.
