Should Medicare pay for Viagra?

State Funded Viagra?

Do you think Medicare should pay for Viagra? For some, Medicare is the only coverage they have. It does the job for most, but does it go too far? Some States in the US certainly think so.

Before the “why” she thinks so, let go to some other issues in the East Cost. The State of Virginia does not fund or support abortion. In fact, some Delegates actually went as far as to say this: "The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion with handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the first born of any, nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children." The absurdity of this comment does not deserve comment.

Okay, so if Virginia does not support abortion, and even argues their point with comments like the one above, then why does the state cover Viagra? It will help men get erections to get women pregnant, but will not support women with services needed to protect them. Again, we can give men erections, but we cannot give women birth control?

Even though this has all created an uproar in Virginia, three other “male” public officials released statements agreeing to strip funding for Planned Parenthood. Three are Attorney Generals in fact..

For now, the State of Virginia will continue to provide Viagra to men with ED, to possibly create more unwanted and aborted children in which the State will not support. Go figure.

The battle will continue to be waged in all the States for years to come on whether or not public funding will be used to pay for abortions. And with backwards thinking arch-conservative Christian groups launching campaigns to strip funding from Planned Parenthood, maybe it’s time to start new campaigns to help keep those erections of men in their pants, not fund them.
