Divorcees Have More Sex Than Married Couples

Britain’s Bedroom Habits

The Telegraph.co.ok website, an on-line British newspaper out of Kent recently had an on-line survey on Valentines Day. It would seem the impact of the baby boomers coming to retirement age is changing the way you live.

More than 1800 people took the on-line survey. Several interesting facts were found. Divorcees have sex more than 21 times a month, which is over twice the amount of married couples, single people, widows, and even cohabitating people. It also turns out that retirees have more sex than folks still working full time jobs and that are younger than the retirees.

There is a lot of rebound sex in divorcees. Social psychologist Rosie Campbell said that in men it gives them a sense of being off the ball and chain.

And for the retiring baby boomer that is now fitter, better off financially, and generally more active than previous generations, have more sex is just more obvious. Plus, in the past 10 years, the common denominator in the works place is stress. Retirement just takes the stress of the job away the day they walk out the door for the last time. When you are stressed, your sexual performance is greatly affected.

Also, the single mom out there provided for her children, juggling her career between home and work just doesn’t have sex on the brain.

But don’t wait until retirement to enjoy sex again, regular exercise can greatly reduce how people deal with stress.

Over 35% of women surveyed have a sex toy, and over 30% of men over 55 have taken Viagra, a sexual potency drug.

The survey also asked what the most important aspect of a relationship is. Sex came in fifth place, preceded by trust in number one, followed by companionship, humor, and financial stability in fourth.

Some other statistics that are interesting:

Out of 20 heterosexuals between the ages of 25 and 34, one has experimented in sex with someone of the same gender, and over 70% of men watch porn.

Almost 35% of those surveyed claimed the best sex of their lives was from the ages of twenty five to 34. And those that said it was best between eighteen and twenty four was 23%. Under 1% for those who thought it was best under 18, and a mere 3% for those over the age of fifty five.

And when it comes to those cheating ones out there it turns out that just under 30% of men have sampled another, and about 21% of women have had an affair. And it turns out that the younger ones out there between the ages of 18 and 24 are almost 2 and a half times more faithful than those aged 35 to 44.
