Boots and Lloyds are offering fast and safe access to health care
A few months back we blogged about one of the UK’s most popular pharmacies “Boots” offering Viagra. They started offering Viagra directly from pharmacists without having to visit your doctor. It is not clear if it applied for Cialis and Levitra as well but men can now walk into Boots pharmacy are request Viagra from a pharmacist. There are steps involved to be qualified though, every man requesting a prescription and Viagra must go through a 30 minutes consultation directly at Boots pharmacy with one of the qualified pharmacists. If approved, the pharmacist will notify your doctor and give you the prescription and your order.
So what does this have to do with Lloyds Pharmacy?
According to a very interesting article posted at Internet.com LloydsPharmacy became the first major health care brand to offer the popular anti-viral medication Tamiflu, through their online consultation process. Currently there is a huge demand for this medication and obtaining it online safely is very convenient for patients who do not want to leave their house. All medications ordered from them are sent via Royal mail and will arrive at the patient’s doorstep the next day.
This is a very different approach than boots who is offering Viagra directly at their pharmacy. We will be watching the news to see if Boots pharmacy will offer s similar service with Tamiflu but as it stands now you can only get Viagra directly at Boots and not Tamiflu.
So how does this work at Lloydspharmacy?
They are pioneers in the development of online consultation and diagnosis and they are already offering diagnosis for treatments of hair loss, impotence (most likely offering Viagra, Levitra and Cialis as treatment options) and birth control.
