Men in British Columbia spent over 20 Million for Viagra


According to a report done by the University of British Columbia, men in B.C. Canada spend more money on prescription medications for Erectile Dysfunction such as Viagra, Levitra or Cialis than other Canadians. The report does not indicate whether the increased spending on meds like Viagra is due to there being more men in the British Columbia area or not. Researches say it could be due to cultural reasons as the ED med Viagra is used widely by the homosexual community.

IMS health Canada is an organization that tracks prescription drugs use and says that more than 242,800 prescriptions for medications such as Viagra, Levitra and Cialis were issued in British Columbia during 2008. This turns out to be a little over 24 million dollars worth of Erectile Dysfunction medications. So the per captia spending on Impotence meds in British Columbia is 13 percent higher than any other province in Canada and coming in second would be Ontario Canada.

So which provinces in Canada have the highest spending on prescription drugs?

According to the study in Canada the per capita spending on all prescription medications was for $578. So in British Columbia the spending was at an all time low of $432. But which province had the highest spending? To be precise Quebec had the highest $680 of spending on prescription medications.
